Young Canadian poker pro looks forward to win the title of World’s topmost poker tournament as he makes his way to tournament lead with multimillion dollars cash haul. Jonathan Duhamel of Montreal is blushing in face of competition.
Jonathan is impelled to struggle with 8 other players for topmost prize amount of nine million dollars as he is the chip leader, entering WSOP April Nine in ‘Las Vegas’.
With smile on face, Duhamel stated it is big amount certainly, describing he is both stressed and happy because the event is continually going on his mind. Around 2 years ago, Jonathan dropped his finance course at the ‘Universite du Quebec a Montreal’ to play the poker game for full time. The parents were worried at first but now they are supporting.
According to Duhamel, his parents now feel that the move is a sound fiscal settlement because of the chance of traveling world whilst collecting big prize amount.
Matthew Jarvis, 26 years old poker player from Surrey also managed to enter to final tables of April .
Albeit the event is two months away, Jonathan’s training schedule already includes many hours of watching videos to look into gestures of future combaters. For this, he has also received assistance from the group of nearly thirty poker player buddies in Quebec who investigate their betting styles.
However, he states that most imperative aspect of training should be doing more and more practice. As said by Duhamel, ‘just like any other sport you practice almost every day and you become a lot better’. The player spends nearly forty hours every week playing 8 tables on a well-known online poker website at a time.
He does not require more practice over his stone cold poker face, however. He covers behind black hoodie whilst playing. Furthermore, he does not prefer to wear sunglasses because he believes they hinder him from perceiving what is happening around him.
Talking about the competitors, Duhamel said that he is going to face really strong combaters and Jarvis is the toughest one. In the words of Duhamel, Jarvis is a very good, rather aggressive player so he has to avoid making any mistake against him.
“Just like any other sport the one makes less mistakes probably ends up winning”, the player said, so at the day of major tournament, he will eat well, have good night sleep and drink lot of coffee and water to stay attentive and pass up mistakes.
